So you’ve created a slideshow ready to share with your audience who are hopefully waiting with baited breath, clasping the edge of their seats in anticipation for your big show, but wait! It’s lacking something… the sound! Inject some razzmatazz with the use of iPhoto’s handy Music menu. In this four-step tutorial you’ll learn how to use the Slideshow Settings pane to turn on the ‘Fit slideshow to music’ option so that the photos used in the show will display until the song ends. Ultimately this means you can select a lengthy masterpiece and stack it with hundreds of frames, or opt for a limited cluster of frames and have these presented at a much slower speed. However, having a shorter song will speed up the presentation considerably. Want to know how it’s done? Follow the steps below…

1: Make a slideshow

Find an Event or hone a collection of images together to use in your presentation. The next thing to do is hit the plus icon at the bottom of the Source panel and select the Slideshow icon. Give the project a title.

2: Settings

With the slideshow creator active, hover your cursor above the image browser and select the Cog icon when it appears. This opens the Settings panel. Choose the ‘Fit slideshow to music’ option.

Move to the tab labelled ‘Music’. You will now have access to all the music currently stored on your computer. Travel to Source: and from the drop-down list choose a piece that will best accompany your show.

4: Make a playlist

Alternatively, if you have stacks upon stacks of images to wade through but don’t want to have to rush, you may want to make a playlist. Simply drag and drop your selection of songs into the bottom field.
