Tutorial: Create your own iTunes Wish List

by Ben Harvell

If you can’t decide what you want to buy right now on iTunes, or can’t afford it all just yet, then why not create an iTunes Wish List?

If you can’t decide what you want to buy right now on iTunes, or can’t afford it all just yet, then why not create an iTunes Wish List?
Have you ever been browsing iTunes, wishing you could buy several hundred pound’s worth of products, only to realise it’s three days until payday and your bank balance keeps laughing at you every time you go to the cash machine? Well now there’s no need for your browsing to be in vain – simply add your heart’s desire to the iTunes Wish List. While applications cannot be added, you can go crazy with as many songs, films and
TV programmes that you can take the time to preview and you can add as many items as you like to the list. You will not be charged until you click the Buy button. iTunes 9 only allows one-click purchasing, so if you were using previous versions then your Shopping Cart will be transferred to the Wish List. We’re here to guide you through the Wish List procedure – a very simple but effective tool that will make your iTunes experience all the more enjoyable.
1: Find what you’re wishing for
Open the iTunes Store and locate the product you are looking for. You can either browse through the homepage’s top picks and new releases, type
in an item in the Spotlight search bar, or click Browse or Power Search.
2: Add to your Wish List
When you find your item, click on the drop-down triangle at the very end of the product’s listing and select ‘Add to Wish List’. This preview will now be stored in your Wish List and you will not be charged.
3: Find your wishes
To access your list, go to the iTunes Store homepage (click on the Home icon in the navigation bar) and select My Wish List in the Quick Links
section. Here you can purchase the item by clicking the Buy button.
4: Be careful what you wish for
To remove items from the Wish List select the cross. If the item is in list form, this can be found by the drop-down menu, or if there’s a picture included the cross is found in the top left-hand corner.

      Hi,
Is there any way to use the ITunes Wishlist without a mouse? I use adaptive technology which means I can’t see the triangle you refer to next to items, and there’s no way I’ve been able to access it. Apple hasn’t been able to help either. Any suggestions would be great as being able to use this feature would mean I’d save a lot of cash :)
      Thanks for your help.

Is there any way to print out your wish list? I would like a list so that I can check that I haven’t duplicated any songs I already have.

Normally iTunes makes sure that you haven’t got two identical songs… Unless it’s remixes or something like that.
