iLife Tutorial – Add a speech bubble to your iWeb site

by Jimmy Hayes

Make your site more fun with a cartoon-esque speech bubble to add excitement to your images.

MainSpecsiWeb works perfectly with all of your images, and you can even edit them within the interface if you need to rather than jumping into iPhoto. It also borrows a number of features from Pages that allow you to introduce shapes into your website designs. In this tutorial we’ll be working with a shape that Apple has handily included in iWeb: the speech bubble. Once inserted, a speech bubble not only enlivens your page, adds colour and a more personal feel, but can be manipulated as you wish with text and gradients. You can even adjust the shape and orientation of your speech bubble to make sure it fits perfectly on your site. If you have a ‘welcome’ or ‘about me’ page with a photo included, why not give this quick tutorial a try? There are many uses of the speech bubble beyond a simple hello, so see what you come up with using this comic book-esque technique.
