Photo gives you everything you need to edit, organise and share your photos with your friends and family. Tools like Faces, for example, let you tag your friends, and as the app learns what they look like, it will start to make suggestions for whom a person in a photo might be. All of this lends itself perfectly for sharing with Facebook, and iPhoto allows you to link your account to the app so that when it tags your friend’s face, Facebook recognises who you are tagging and adds them to the photo on your timeline.
Once you’ve linked your accounts, sharing photos is quick and easy. All of your Facebook albums will be made available in iPhoto so you can add photos to them, or create new albums using your selected shots. If you’ve renamed your shots or added captions these will be automatically added to your snaps, and as long as your Address Book contacts have linked Facebook details, their Faces tags will be transferred as well. You can even view comments that people make in iPhoto, too.
Step 1: Preferences
First of all, open iPhoto and click its name in the menubar. Choose Preferences from the drop-down menu that appears. Alternatively, you can use the Cmd+‘comma’ shortcut to do the same thing.
Step 2: Accounts
Open the Accounts tab in the Preferences window you’ve just selected and click the ‘+’ button in the bottom-left corner. Choose Facebook and click the Add option.
Step 3: Sign in
You will be prompted to input your login details for Facebook, and you’ll also need to agree to the terms and conditions before you can finally click the Login button.
