iLife Tutorial: Score a Movie in GarageBand

by Jimmy Hayes

Having imported your movie into GarageBand, the next step is to create some music to go with it

MainSpecsSo now you’ve got your movie into position in GarageBand by following the previous tutorial, it’s time to get creative and take full advantage of its ability to play back movie files in sync with the project on its special Movie Track. This can be used as a timing guide so that you can add software instrument parts, Apple Loops and recorded elements to create a unique soundtrack to go with the visuals. Once you’ve composed your backing track, there are options to export the whole movie (together with its newly programmed soundtrack) as a podcast straight to iWeb, or as a QuickTime movie file to iTunes.
