Are these high-quality cans at a fraction of the designer price the ones you’ve been looking for? We think so, read on to find out why we love the Nocs N700s.

When it comes to on-ear headphones, the market has become increasingly competitive in the last few years. Big names have released their own premium- priced designer models, and while they are popular, the sound quality they produce is less than perfect. And when you try these over-ears from Nocs, you might ask yourself why someone would spend hundreds on a pair of headphones when you can get great quality for much less.

The design reminded us strongly of the popular Urbanears Plattans, but these cans still manage to produce the goods. Here, a solid band sits comfortably on your head, while the padded cups encase your ears comfortably, but with a tight enough grip to keep out plenty of external noise. The in-line remote is a great addition, with volume controls and a microphone. We worried slightly about the thin cord, and were frustrated by the lack of compact storage options for the headphones.

But the biggest positive is the sound, which manages to pump out plenty of bass while maintaining clean, crisp high levels. The balance is slightly off, geared towards the lower-end, but the quality is undoubtedly very high.

Pros Great sound and some lovely noise cancellation
Cons The cord feels a little flimsy and there’s no folding storage
Review - Four Stars
