New 27″ iMac orders delayed, won’t now ship until February?

by Freddie Harrison

Apple’s 27″ super-slim iMac has been a long time coming and new shipping information in their online store suggests we won’t see them until at least next month.

iMac - Main

When Apple’s new super-slm iMac was launched back in October we knew we’d be waiting for some time before they made an appearance in stores and desks across the world, but fresh shipping information on Apple’s online store suggests we could wait a little longer.

Apple might’ve just made their November deadline for shipping the new, 21.5″ iMac, but for those who want to go super-size the waiting is still going on. Today, ordering a new 27″ iMac from Apple’s online store gives us a dispatch date of 3-4 weeks, suggesting we won’t see these models until February.

It’s important to note, though, that this dispatch date is only definite for those iMacs that are ordered from today and that earlier pre-orders are already shipping. We’ve seen a new, 27″ iMac in the flesh, so we know they exist. It’s just a matter of time before they make it into the wider world.

Ordered my 27″ iMac first week of December, on the day it was launched.
Received it on January, 9 in the Netherlands.

I ordered a custom 27″ iMac on December 7th, and still have no word as to when it will be ready. Last word I had from the store was that they hoped it would be here before the end of January, but it seems that’s not the case. I’m in Australia.
