Fender USB guitar - Featured

Apple has posted a new GarageBand-enabled guitar for sale on its online store. The Squier by Fender® USB Stratocaster Guitar allows budding rockstars to hook up their six-string to GarageBand on their Mac, iPhone or iPad via USB.

Specs-wise, the USB Strat isn’t all too different from a regular Squier Stratocaster and still features the analogue 1/4″ jack output for hooking up to standard guitar amps. The real difference here is a Type Mini-B USB connector that comes with a USB Mini to 30-pin adapter, making it perfect for plugging into your Mac or iOS device and recording via GarageBand.

The guitar also features an 1/8″ jack output for plugging in headphones, perfect for those bedroom guitarists that need to keep things down late at night. At £159.95/$199.95, it’s certainly an affordable option for beginners and the specs make it just as suitable for the touring musician that needs a go-to guitar for recording ideas fast.
