This was made even more impressive by the fact that Apple has yet to release the entire range of iPads – the 3G enabled version is due out later this month. As a result of the launch and the introduction of the iBook Store Apple has also sold 250,000 ebooks. In a press release Steve Jobs said “It feels great to have the iPad launched into the world—it’s going to be a game changer. iPad users, on average, downloaded more than three apps and close to one book within hours of unpacking their new iPad.”

The launch was so exciting for the Apple CEO that he even ventured out to his local Apple Store and was taking to customers about their new purchases. 9to5Mac has some cool pictures of the big man in action.
