HELP ADMIN PRIVILEGES

I have lost my admin privileges and I can't get them back. I cannot boot into safe mode or boot from the leopard install DVD to reset the root password or create a new administrator account. My accounts have been turned into "standard" or "managed". Is there a way to fix this and once again become administrator. Help is greatly appreciated!
