Hi Doug, although we don't have any specific details right now, we'll hopefully be seeing iCreate on a few more platforms over the next year. We'll, of course, keep you updated. FH

I really love your magazines, but they are way too expensive in the U.S. I am looking forward to the time when I can subscribe to your magazine via Amazon Kindle, as I can then read your magazine on my big screen (old eyes). You already have this capability for 3 of your magazines, but when will you be bringing all your magazines to the Kindle store. I tried the iPhone App, and it is just way too small to be of any use. And I do not have an iPad at present.

Hi Hugh,

Thanks for getting in touch and giving us your views on a digital edition - let me start by saying that you're not the first to request this, and we'll be passing on your comments to those in charge who are able to make this happen for their consideration. As a team of four who write, design and produce iCreate every month, it's in our interest as much as yours, that you felt compelled to pay for your copy of iCreate (be it through a digital subscription or otherwise) as that's what allows us to carry on creating the magazine, so we'll be pushing as much as we can for a digital edition to be produced

Although a print subscription isn't cheap, we still think it's good value. Currently $130 for 13 issues translates to around £6 per issue, which is our UK cover price and cheaper than physical newsstand price in the US. That said, we understand that for some this is still a lot of money, so we'd urge you to keep your eye out for any special offers that do tend to crop up from time to time.

The reason that iCreate is available in Italian and Spanish but not in English is due to the fact that iCreate, as a magazine, is licensed out internationally to various overseas publishers, who may or may not choose to make the magazine available on a digital platform.

I hope this clears up the situation with regards to a digital edition. We know our Newsstand edition on iOS devices has been extremely successful, and we hope to reach more readers via a digital edition in the future.

Many thanks,

Freddie Harrison

I've purchased a few select copies of iCreate, but am not a subscriber. The reason for this is that I live in the US and the subscription cost is overwhelming to say the least, currently $124.77. I do subscribe to several other magazines in their digital formats via http://www.zinio.com/ and http://www.coverleaf.com/#Home.

What I find ironic is that iCreate, a British publication, is available on Zinio in Spanish and Italian language versions only... shouldn't there be an English language version as well?

I will continue to change over to digital editions as the paper subscriptions expire as there is not currently a way to transfer subscriptions with most. I have received a lot of good information from iCreate by simply visiting the book/magazine dealer siting down in an overstuffed chair, usually with a cup of coffee, and reading the issues on hand. However I would much prefer to have my own digital copy available on my own computer.

iCreate is missing a huge market segment here by ignoring the potential subscribers. I'd subscribe if there were a digital edition available at a reasonable price... until such time I will continue to read for free, but at an inconvenience.

Thanks very much for getting in touch, John. It's great to hear from our US readers! I'll pass your suggestions re: the buyer's guide onto the editor and designer and see if something can be done with regards to getting model numbers included for you. As for the price, we have been discussing this a lot here at iCreate Towers. As the US version of the Mag is an import from the UK, the costs of shipping it over add to the cover price which is unfortunate, and if it was any cheaper right now we'd be out of business! That said, we are discussing this and we'll continue to work hard to see if we can change this. We hope you're excited for issue 100!

Hello, I have been a subscribers for about five or more years now here in the U.S. I love your magazine!!! Each issue you have the Buyers Guide - could you please have the model number included with the description and price. I think that would be very helpful because older Macs and i stuff get sold all the time and knowing model numbers would be very helpful!
Thank you and keep up the GREAT work!!! A little less expensive overhear would be nice however!!

Hi Claude,

Thank you so much for the compliments about the magazine! It's great to hear you're enjoying it as we work so hard on it each month :)

As for your question about Lion - first of all, did you buy Lion through the Mac App Store? If so, all you need to do is log into your App Store account on the computer you want to install Lion on, then go to the 'Purchased' tab in the Mac App Store. Lion should be included in the list of apps you've purchased, and you can download it again by clicking the button next to it. Lion should install and you should be good to go! Let us know how it goes, and if you have any other problems feel free to ask!

As for the price question, we can only apologise! Sadly, getting the UK edition of the magazine from here in the UK over to the US and Canada is very expensive, and we have to make sure our costs are covered! Sadly there isn't much we can do about the cost of magazines in other countries as if we charged any less the magazine would go out of business! I hope the price doesn't put you off too much, and that you continue to buy the magazine, but if you enjoy the French version too then that's great!

Thanks for your comment,

Stephen

What a nice and beautifull magazine. It is easy readable and plaisant.

After I made a quick look of iCreate at the store, I saw a particular interesting article in the Genious Bar section about "Install Lion elswhere" (Page 82 Issue 98)

Question:
Did we need a Lion's serial number to used that copy to install on my other computer? or on someone else computer?

Note: The iCreate Magazine I bought is the UK edition.
But the price on the shelf: WOW! Ouf!
                                                         6 S Pounds = Canadian$9.53
On the shelf store: *C$19.95 WOW! or 11.96S Pound
                                                                          * Plus 15% taxes

With that HUGE price, you might not a big seller of iCreate in Canada!
I will think twice before buying your iCreate UK edition again.
Once a while I also buy the French edition.
.

I wanted to send you a great story for iCreate magazine... Plow Digital was in the featured in Issue Volume 2 of iPad & iPhone Tips and Tricks from iCreate Magazine and iCreate and Issue 80 of iCreate Magazine.

The story we wanted to share with you:

Teen Designs App for iPhone Mobile Digital Device:
Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer® to Receive Portion of Proceeds

Brooklyn is more than your typical 13-year-old. She takes dance lessons, plays tennis and argues with her twin brother like many other girls her age, but on the side, she’s an entrepreneur. And with her family’s help, she designed Giggle Bear™ for the iPhone mobile digital device. The game, available today on iTunes, is the brainchild of Brooklyn. http://www.gigglebear.com

Hi Jimmy - hope all is well. A quick question - Is there a really simple way to run an iweb website on both an imac and macbook pro. I want to be able to edit the site from 2 locations and have an idisk account. What is the best way to achieve a seamless site using 2 macs?
Look forward to hearing from you.
